Harlow Retail Park

This project was undertaken for our client, Bradford Watts, and comprised the supply and installation of a new perimeter security fencing system at Harlow Retail Park. 

The scope of works included the careful removal of an existing 10-metre double-leaf vehicular gate, followed by the supply and installation of a new 10-metre gate repositioned further within the site boundary. In addition, we supplied and installed 2400mm high powder-coated green palisade fencing, together with a new pedestrian access gate incorporating an integrated access control system. 

The project presented several logistical and programme challenges. During the delivery phase, we were advised by our original gate supplier that manufacturing lead times exceeded the remaining contract duration, posing a significant risk to the agreed programme. To mitigate this, our in-house design team collaborated closely with our specialist fabrication workshop to design and manufacture the required gates internally. This proactive approach enabled us to complete fabrication and installation within a two-week period, ensuring the project remained on schedule. 

Further complexities were encountered during installation due to the presence of multiple underground and surface services along the proposed fence line. Additional works included extensive saw cutting and breakout of reinforced concrete slabs with depths in excess of 300mm. Through detailed planning, effective coordination, and the expertise of our skilled installation team, these challenges were successfully managed without compromise to safety, quality, or programme. 

The works were completed to a high standard, delivering a secure, durable, and visually consistent perimeter solution. The project was handed over on time and to the full satisfaction of the client.
