Summary
Working with Walker Construction at the London Excel Centre was an absolute pleasure for our team. Our brief was to create a new site access and implement traffic management, including a temporary pedestrian footpath. We were committed to delivering top-quality service and ensuring complete client satisfaction.
The project began with excavating the existing footpath down to the road formation level and carefully removing the existing drainage kerb tops, leaving them in the channel. We then supplied and installed 12mm steel plates over the drainage channel, followed by the installation of Terram 1000 and Tensar TX160 geogrid for added stability.
Next, we installed new drop kerbs and leveled and compacted the new Type 1 formation. Our team then laid a 20mm base course of tarmac, finished with a 10mm wearing course to ensure a smooth, durable surface. Every stage of the project was completed to the highest standards, with attention to both quality and safety.
The client was extremely pleased with the final result, and we were thrilled to have exceeded their expectations.
